The state government reimburses them part of the amount but most of the load is borne by APSRTC. While the GBT costs Rs 340 a month, a student bus pass costs only Rs 85.With a large number of fake student passes making rounds, the corporation now wants to plug the leak. But its 50 checking officers are not enough, considering the APSRTC operates 2,800 buses in the city which make more than 35,000 trips a day."Increasing the number of checking staff is not viable, hence we have decided to offer incentives to conductors to detect frauds. An incentive will help bring down the menace," said APSRTC regional manager (Hyderabad city region) C Panduranga Murthy.
